Kids’ toys and amenity kits: Mommy, are we there yet?!

Amenity Kits

Summer is almost here (woohoo!) and I can imagine that people are already smack in the middle of planning their summer vacations with family and loved ones. Speaking to some of my friends, while they can almost smell the sea breeze and feel the sand between their toes, the very thought of their journey – especially with young kids – already had them sweating.

I remember as a kid, I made my parents life hell by running around the airport wanting to know exactly what was going on – both in or near the aircraft, and once I was actually in the aircraft, the questions and the “fake flying” of the plane never stopped (my parents deserve an award!!).

So, I can totally imagine what parents have to go through flying some 4 – 5 hours to an exotic sun-filled paradise with the immense task of entertaining their kids and keeping them occupied on such long journeys. This is exactly why our team pays so much attention to this topic and dedicated a large section of our displays at this year’s WTCE to kids’ toys and amenity kits.

We received amazing feedback on our Monster series, which included meal service concepts in the shape of UFOs and a cute monster kit made out of soft terry cotton that has the potential to replace the cuddly toy that didn’t quite make it into mommy’s hand luggage. The concepts, complete with a matching monster fishing game, are sure to keep kids entertained! In fact, I can honestly say that the fishing game actually kept my colleagues and I busy for a better part of our lunch hour!

My personal favorite, of course, was the Airline World concept that had a casserole in the shape of a plane which we paired with a mini pilot case amenity kit or a choice of a ramp agent’s kit.

One thing is certain – SPIRIANT loves kids, and developing kids’ kits and games is a lot fun and something we truly enjoy (just ask some of our customers such as Edelweiss, Condor & Lufthansa). So we are totally looking forward to working on our customers’ requests this summer and I personally can’t wait to try them out!

Happy summer everyone!
