Watch Out! Crew & Service Has Been Turbo Charged
Crew & Service
Evolution is our middle name. We’re always on the look-out to diversify and enhance the SPIRIANT team with game changing experts.
Welcome, Juan Cueto-Felgueroso to the SPIRIANT family as our new Crew & Service Product Manager, who’s already dazzling us with his expertise in design and cabin configuration.
Intrigued? We caught up with Juan to dig a little deeper and find out more about what he’s got in store for SPIRIANT.
1. First of all, tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
As a newly qualified engineer, the only destination for me was Germany; an easy choice as engineering and Germany is a perfect match after all. I ended up at Airbus where I had a rapid rise from starting as a Requirements Manager to becoming a Team Leader for all design activities for the A350 Cabin Seating Team. It was an intense time!
2. What drew you to SPIRIANT and what is it about Crew & Service that interests you?
The Product Manager position at SPIRIANT represented everything I’ve worked towards as an engineer. I thought – ‘Yes! Finally, a place where I can use all of this big-company knowledge and expertise to make a huge difference.’ It’s so exciting!
The possibilities for innovative galley equipment are extraordinary. Solutions and products are developing at such a rapid rate; I’m talking about things that will change the inflight experience as we know it…and in the not so distant future!
3. Can you be more specific? Tell us the details!
Well, I can’t give anything SPIRIANT-specific away right now, but what I can say is, SPIRIANT is renowned for developing industry changing products, and I bring a wealth of experience- so it’s an interesting match.
I’m an expert in cabin configuration and can recognize and translate the current and upcoming trends such as: future smart galley, incorporating social spaces, digitalization, and of course, modularity.
One innovation in particular that’s very much at the forefront of development is onboard retail. I’m working closely with the LSG Group and Retail in Motion on a new trolley concept that maximizes opportunity for onboard retail. This is still at the research phase, but watch this space!
On top of this, we’re working on three key solutions that will allow the crew to focus even more on the passenger: space saving, cooling, and waste management. All are areas that have huge capacity for change industry-wide and we’re sitting on some game-changing developments.
4. How do you like working at SPIRIANT? Did we meet your expectations? Name your favorite thing about SPIRIANT.
Yes, SPIRIANT definitely met and exceeded my expectations. It’s like joining a new family and everything I was professionally looking for.
My favorite thing about working at SPIRIANT is that I can lead my own projects where I can literally see my input being received and implemented. It’s the biggest joy for a Product Manager.
We can’t wait to show you all the developments that Juan and the Crew & Service team have in store…keep your eyes on SPIRIANT for news.
